A2Z Scraplets’ August Competition is launched –

This month we are BLIND SCRAPPING!

For those of you who haven’t blind scrapped before… Here’s how it works: you are given a series of written instructions, with NO PICTURES, to create a layout. Therefore, it is called BLIND scrapping.

THE RULES:   Once your layout is complete, please email it to us.   Email your challenge entries to: challenges@a2zscraplets.com.au Re-size images to 600×600 pixels, and make sure files are no bigger than 200kb.   Please use your name as the file name.   There are no limits on use of products or manufacturers (but of course we do love to see Scraplets on your pages).   One entry per person.   Entries close on August 31st!   For Blind Challenges: Layouts will be uploaded to the gallery/blog at the END OF THE MONTH.   Please do not upload your layouts to other competitions, personal blogs or galleries until the comp has FINISHED.   You may add extras to your layout but it must still be recognizable.

The Prizes:   There will be 3 prizes, each one being a mystery pack of Scraplets.   One winner will be selected as the judges’ choice.   Two winners will be selected via random prize draw.   You only have to be in it to win it 😉   So why not give it a go.

Lets Get Started..

You Will Need: 1 x sheet of cardstock for base (12×12) 4 x sheets of pattern papers (scraps will work). 1 x journal box/spot/tag/stamp 1x Large Embellishment (eg,a scraplet{preferred}) small embellishments (eg, brads, buttons, flowers, bling etc) Alphas or RubOns etc for title. Photos: 1 x 4×6 portrait photo

Instructions:

Cut pp#1,  to 2×10.5 inches and scallop the bottom edge. (if you wish to ink/sand/distress etc.. don’t forget to do this to your PP @ each step)

Adhere pp#1,  3.5 inches from the bottom of your base sheet, and approx 1&1/4 inch from each side.

Cut PP#2 to 6.5×4 Inches.   Adhere PP#2 horizontally above pp#1 on the left hand side – slightly overlapping pp#1.

Cut pp#3 to 3.5×6.5 Inches   Adhere pp#3 Horizontally, 0.5 inch from the left hand side of pp#2, and overlapping the top of pp#2, by 1 inch.

Cut PP#4 to 2.5×6.5 inches.   Adhere PP#4 vertically, 1.5 inches from the right hand side of PP#1. Level with pp#2, and overlapping PP#2 & PP#3.

Adhere your photo aprox 1.5 inches from the right hand side of pp#4, so it is overlapping PP#2,3&4.

Add your title to the top, left hand side of PP#3. Add journalling under title, to the left of your photo, overlapping both pp#2 &PP#3..

Using your one Large, and several small embellishments, make a “cluster” on the bottom right hand side of your photo, stretching over to the remaining visible piece of the scalloped strip (to the right) for pp#1. Finished! 🙂
